  • Process

    The entire piece is built by hand in the workshop. The leather is measured and cut in order to incorporate the natural markings of the hide. The raw edges are bevelled and burnished using burnishing gum to form smooth strong edges that will wear naturally over time. I use the saddle stitch technique where 2 needles are used simultaneously with a single piece of thread. This creates a very strong bond and the stitch is unlikely to ever unravel.

  • Leather used

    We use 100% Vegetable tanned leather produced in Indian tanneries. The ancient craft of naturally tanning leather is complex and fascinating. Only natural materials are used to tan the leather that are not harsh on the environment. Veg-tan leather is beautiful, often displaying the history of life through scars and imperfections. The material will develop a wonderful patina unique to each owner and after years become a treasured object.
